ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Miami University senior synchronized skating team launched its 2002-03 season in stylish fashion by taking the Dr. Richard Porter Classic crown for the second straight year. The RedHawks skaters were flawless on the ice, and received all first-place ordinals from the judges in the short-program competition.

"Our team had a tremendous showing this weekend," head coach Vicki Korn says. "It was an unanimous decision among the judges, and this is a great way for our team to begin the season."

The collegiate squad captured its own divisional crown when it swept the ordinals on Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Porter Classic. The team won the Porter Classic skating to the music from "The Witches of Eastwick".
