LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - The Miami University Senior Synchronized Skating team is in second place after competing in the short program Thursday night at the U.S. National Championships in Lake Placid, N.Y.
The RedHawks trail the Haydenettes team who took first place in the short program with a perfect nine out of nine first-place ordinals. Miami received seven second-place and two third-place ordinals to take the second slot entering the Saturday night's long program. Trailing the RedHawks in third place are the Crystallettes while Team Elan is fourth.
The long program is scheduled for Saturday evening from 6:30-9:12 p.m. The top two teams at this competition will earn the right to represent the U.S. at the I.S.U. World Synchronized Championships on April 12-13 in Rouen, France.
