LOWELL, Mass. - Miami's senior synchronized skating team finished second at the U.S. National Championships in the free skate/long program on Saturday night, qualifying the team for the International Skating Union's World Championship in Goteborg, Sweden, in April.
Miami took all nine second-place ordinals as the Haydenettes club team swept the first-place votes. The RedHawks finished ahead of 11 other clubs at the meet.
Earlier Saturday, Miami's collegiate squad won the U.S. title among its fellow collegiate teams. That team hosts the National Collegiate Championships April 9-10 at Goggin Ice Arena as its final competition of the year, two weeks before the senior team goes to the ISU World Championship.
