KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Miami's collegiate synchronized skating team won the Bronco Challenge Cup on Saturday in Kalamazoo, Mich., combining individual efforts with a second-place finish in the team performance.

Western Michigan won the team category, earning four of the five first-place ordinals. Miami earned three second-place ordinals plus one for third place and one for fourth. Michigan State received the other first-place ordinal and took third, followed by Michigan, Bowling Green, Illinois and Grand Valley State.

The collegiate squad is now off until Feb. 25, when it and the senior team travel to Lowell, Mass., for the U.S. National Championships. The senior team competes Jan. 28-29 at the Midwestern Synchronized Championships in Dallas, Texas.
