Miami University's synchronized skating program assigned one of its own to the position of assistant synchronized skating coach when head coach Vicki Korn officially announced the hiring of 2004 graduate Heather Paige prior to the 2004-05 season.

Paige, who was a four-year letterwinner and senior team captain for three seasons with the Red and White, is the primary coach of the collegiate team and an assistant to both the senior and junior teams.

With 15 years of skating experience in the field of synchronized skating, as well as 3 years of coaching experience, Paige has led the collegiate team to 3, back-to back U.S. National Championships. She is currently certified rated in team skating by the Professional Skaters Association.

In addition to her duties with the synchronized skating teams, Paige currently acts as the Miami Ice Skating Club's advisor. She also coaches a Pre-Juvenile and Intermediate team for the Oxford Skating Club.

Prior to joining the staff at Miami, Paige spent the last several years working the Miami University Summer Skating Schools where she served as the head coach of multiple teams and instructed individuals of all ages and levels.

As a student-athlete, Paige was the program's first twotime recipient of the Thomas J. Fisher award, given to the program's outstanding skater, and was a world competitor for all four years. Along with the Fisher Award,

Paige was named Miami's Rookie of the Year in 2001 and Senior of the Year in 2004. She is a double Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field and Dance.

Paige also served as both the vice president and president of the Miami University Ice Skating Club in 2003 and 2004. She was also involved in the Miami RedHawk

Student Athlete Advisory council as a junior and is an elected member of the U.S. Figure Skating Athlete Advisory Committee.

She earned a bachelor's degree from Miami in Mass Communication, with a specialization in TV production.
