BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomore Christin Eberst (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) took seventh in the one-meter diving event to qualify for the NCAA Championships on the first day of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships. The lone RedHawk to compete in the one-meter finals, Eberst put herself in good position to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the second time as a collegian.
Eberst finished the event with 505.80 points, in seventh place among the region's top divers. The top 11 divers after the one- and three-meter events from Zone C are awarded berths to the national meet. Among the other competitors from Friday's event was MAC Diver of the Year Anca Tilea, from Eastern Michigan, who took 14th.
The NCAA Zone C Diving Championships continue tomorrow with the three-meter competition. Meet time is set for 12:00 p.m. The meet will conclude on Sunday with the platform events.
