CLEVELAND - Sophomore Karen Frazier and Juniors Melissa Roemmele and Allison Stevens earned Women's Swimming and Diving Academic All-MAC honors, the conference announced today. To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests.

Frazier earned her second consecutive First-Team All-MAC honor at the Mid-American Conference Championships. Frazier finished in the top five in three different events, including a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke. Frazier added a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke and a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley. At the Miami Invitational earlier in the season, Frazier set a school, pool and MAC record with a time of 1:02.19 in the 100 breaststroke, which also was a NCAA `B' cut time. Frazier also earned a `B' cut time in the 200 breaststroke at the Miami Invitational with a time of 2:16.09.

Roemmele has been named to the Academic All-MAC team for the second sconsecutive season. Roemmele placed in the top six in both the one-meter and three-meter dives at the Mid-American Conference Championships. Roemmele placed fifth with a score of 260.70 in the three-meter dive and she placed sixth in the one-meter dive with a score of 260.65.

Stevens had an exceptional week at the Mid-American Conference Championships. Stevens swam in Miami's relays, but she excelled in her individual events. Stevens made the `A' final in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle. In the 50 freestyle, she finished in second place with a time of 23.25. She followed that performance with a third-place showing in the 100 freestyle (50.78) and a fourth-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:50.27). Her top finishes in individual events along with her participation in Miami's relays earned her First-Team All-MAC honors. This is Stevens second straight season being named to the Academic All-MAC team.
