OXFORD, Ohio - The RedHawk women's swimming and diving squad extended their dominance outside the MAC realm on Friday, opening up a 134-point lead on second-place Louisville after one day of competition at the Miami Invitational at the Nixon Aquatic Center.

The evening began auspiciously for the Red and White, as seniors Christel Frantz (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake) and Morgan Kautz (Long Grove, Ill./Stevenson), along with junior Katie Unger (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) and sophomore Margaret Patrick (Marietta, Ga./Holy Innocents) won the 200 Free Relay in 1:36.56, seven-hundredths of a second ahead of a Marshall foursome.

Junior Katie Forster (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) supplied another A-Final finish, taking fifth in the 500 Free in 4:59.25. Ohio State's Griet Buelens won the race in 4:53.93. Freshman Lauren Evanosky (Westport, Conn./Staples) was Miami's top finisher in the 200 IM, taking 10th in 2:09.51. Louisville's Amanda Taylor won the race in 2:05.56.

In the 50 Free, Miami placed three A-Final swimmers, with Patrick leading the way in third in 24.03, Frantz in fourth in 24.25 and Unger in seventh in 24.42. Cleveland State's Marianne Lionell won the race in 23.86.

Christin Eberst (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) won the three-meter diving competition with 498.25 points, almost 70 ahead of her closest competitor, Marshall's Casey Mulholland (428.50).

Miami's top 400 Medley Relay squad of Evanosky, Unger, Forster and Patrick closed the night with a second-place finish in 3:53.73.

The Miami Invitational continues through Sunday.
