OXFORD, Ohio - In its most dominating performance of the new season, the Miami women's swimming and diving team won all 14 swimming events and one of the two diving events in a 177-118 win over Ball State at the Nixon Aquatic Center on Friday evening. Miami had a season-high five two-time individual winners, and sophomore Margaret Patrick (Marietta, Ga./Holy Innocents) stood atop the winner's stand a total of four times versus the Cardinals.

Patrick's first victory came as she swam the closing leg of the 400 Medley Relay, teaming withjuniors Katie Unger (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) and Katie Forster (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) and freshman Lauren Evanosky (Westport, Conn./Staples) to finish in a Miami season-best 3:54.19.

Senior Julie Madden (Canton, Ohio/Hawken) then won the first of two races she captured on the night, leading a group of five RedHawk swimmers to touch the wall ahead of any Cardinal in the 500 Free. Madden finished the race in a career-best 10:26.22. Forster followed with a win in the 200 Free in 1:54.92, and freshman Evanosky claimed the 100 Back in 59.12. Fellow rookie Kristen Bezier (Evans City, Pa./Seneca Valley) continued the victory parade by winning the 100 Breast in 1:06.84, followed by Unger's win in the 200 Fly in 2:07.19 and Patrick's win in the 50 Free in 24.46.

Ball State's only victory on the night came in the 1-meter diving competition, where Katie Boyle finished with 232.57 points. Sophomore Katie Meister (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley), who would go on to win the 3-meter dive with 237.36 points, was Miami's highest finisher in the 1-meter, taking fourth. For the second-straight weekend, Miami was without the services of junior springboarder Christin Eberst (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), a past NCAA qualifier.

In the meet's second half, Patrick claimed the 100 Free (53.26), Evanosky won the 200 Back (2:07.74), Unger won the 200 Breast (2:21.62), Madden won the 500 Free (5:11.00), and Forster won the 100 Fly (57.85). After those events and Meister's 3-meter win, Miami led 177-103 and ceded the points on the last two events. Laura Armbruster (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) touched the wall first in 2:08.35 in the 200 IM, and Patrick, Diana Zeleznikar (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River), Maggi Bulla (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) and Christel Frantz (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake) finished the 200 Free Relay first in 1:38.48.

Miami races next on Saturday at Ohio State in a 1 p.m. dip. The RedHawks, who are now at 3-0 and extended their MAC win streak to 27 dual meets, visit the Buckeyes in the team's first non-conference meet of the season.
