YPSILANTI, Mich. - Sophomore Allison Stevens notched three individual victories and the Miami University women's swimming and diving team (5-0; 4-0 MAC) won 12 of 16 events as it defeated the defending Mid-American Conference Champion Eastern Michigan Eagles, 193-107, Saturday afternoon at the Jones Natatorium. The win extended Miami's streak of MAC dual meet wins to 43, and the 86-point margin of victory was its second-largest of the season.

Stevens won three individual events at the same meet for the first time in her career, posting wins in the 100 and 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly. Stevens was one of three Miamians to win multiple events, as sophomore Malarie Schmidt swept the breaststroke events and freshman Karen Frazier swept breaststroke events. Seven different Miami swimmers notched individual wins against the defending MAC Champions as Miami kept its perfect record intact.

Miami opened the meet by placing the top two relay teams in the 200 medley relay, and after an Eastern Michigan victory in the 1,000 freestyle, the RedHawks reeled off five straight wins. Stevens started the Miami winning streak with her first-place time in the 200 freestyle (1:53.22), and Schmidt and Frazier followed with top finishes in the 100 backstroke (59.26) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.51), respectively.

Seniors Diana Zeleznikar and Margaret Patrick added wins in the 200 butterfly (2:06.16) and 50 freestyle (24.58), respectively, before Eastern Michigan placed the top two finishers on the 1-meter board. The diving win was Eastern Michigan's only win, however, before Miami ripped off another five-event winning streak, jump started by Stevens first-place time in the 100 freestyle (52.88).

Following Stevens' win, Schmidt and Frazier turned in back-to-back top finishes in the 200 backstroke (2:06.57) and 200 breaststroke (2:22.70), respectively. Junior Kathryn Stephens then notched a first-place time in the 500 freestyle (5:04.86) before Stevens added her final individual win in the 100 butterfly (58.02).

Eastern Michigan closed by winning two of the final three events, with senior Ashley Seymour's victory in the 400 individual medley (4:31.79) standing as Miami's final win of the meet. Eastern Michigan's pair of wins in the 3-meter dive and 800 freestyle relay were not enough to overcome Miami's lead, as the RedHawks kept their hopes alive for a sixth straight season with a perfect MAC dual meet record. Miami has won every conference dual meet since the beginning of the 2001-02 season.

Miami's divers are in action next weekend when they travel to the Indiana Invitational (Nov. 17-18) in Bloomington. The next time Miami's full team will compete is Nov. 30-Dec. 2 when the RedHawks host the 13th Annual Miami Invitational.
