BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Miami University's women's swimming and diving team rebounded from its first Mid-American Conference loss since 2001 with a strong showing against Bowling Green on Saturday afternoon. The RedHawks defeated the Falcons 177-122 to improve to 4-2 and 3-1 in the MAC.

Miami opened the scoring with a three second victory in the 400 medley relay before a trio of Miami freshman, Miranda Kaltenborn, Kelsey Vehr and Sarah Bullock, finished 1-2-3 in the 1,650 freestyle. The RedHawks continued their early success as junior Maggie French and sophomore Allison Way placed 1-2 in the 200 freestyle. Bowling Green responded with wins in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, but junior Allison Stevens earned a win by eight tenths of a second over Bowling Green's Chelsea Lopus in the 200 butterfly to give the RedHawks another win.

After the Falcons took the top two spots in the 50 freestyle, Miami's divers stepped up, including sophomore Kelsey Anagnos, who led a 1-2-3 finish in the 3-meter diving with a career-best score of 360.67.

The Falcons gathered some more points with 1-2 finishes in both the 100 freestyle and 200 backstroke, but Miami won the next four events, including a career-best score of 305.70 in 1-meter diving by junior Melissa Roemmele.

The RedHawks closed the meet out with a win in the 200 freestyle relay to defeat the Falcons, 177-122.

Miami returns to the pool next weekend when the Red and White travel to Bloomington, Ind., for the Indiana Invitational. The RedHawks will compete Nov. 16-18 and the events begin at 9 a.m. each morning.
