BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Coach Dave Jennings's Miami women's swimming and diving team bounced back in impressive fashion Saturday afternoon at Bowling Green, defeating the Falcons by a score of 165-129.

The RedHawks, losers last night at Toledo, got top-three finishes in two swimming events and two diving events to build up a lead and improve their record to 3-1 in Mid-American Conference meets. Miami is 4-3 overall in 2009-10.

Bowling Green, a winner yesterday against Ohio, is now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in MAC dual meets.

Junior Kelsey Vehr (Cincinnati) and freshman Leah Thornton (Helena, AL) both won two races apiece in the meet at Cooper Pool. Vehr captured first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.93) and the 400 individual medley. Her time in the latter race was 12 seconds faster than the previous Miami best time this season. Thornton won the 100 backstroke (58.85) and the 100 butterfly (57.47).

Other Miami swimming winners included redshirt freshman Claire Dickmann (Edgewood, KY) in the 1000 freestyle (10:26.64), senior Kasey Carpenter (Cincinnati) in the 200 backstroke (2:05.66) and Megan Brunn (Mansfield) in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.42).

Diving winners were senior Kelsey Anagnos (St. Louis, MO) at one-meter with a season-best score of 272.10 and freshman Danica Roskos (Pennington, NJ) at three meters with a score of 280. 12.

Miami's next action is Saturday (Nov. 14) versus Kenyon at the Nixon Aquatic Center.
