OXFORD, Ohio - Freshman Karen Frazier tied her own varsity record in the 100 breaststroke and the Miami University women's swimming and diving team won 12 of 16 events as it cruised to a 186-112 win over the Ball State Cardinals. The victory was Miami's 42nd consecutive Mid-American Conference dual meet win dating back to 2002.

On Friday afternoon at the Nixon Aquatic Center, Frazier, tied her own varsity record in the 100 breaststroke with a first-place time of 1:04.18. The defending MAC Swimmer of the Week, Frazier swept the breaststroke events against Ball State by also turning in a first-place time in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.94).

Frazier was one of three Miamians to post a pair of individual wins against the Cardinals, as sophomores Jenn Flaherty and Allison Stevens also pulled the trick. Flaherty was solid in the distance events, notching first-place finishes in the 1,650 freestyle (17:15.71) and 500 freestyle (5:08.11), while Stevens' top times came in the 100 freestyle (52.62) and 200 freestyle (1:54.53).

Five additional RedHawks turned in first-place finishes, led by senior Margaret Patrick in the 50 freestyle (24.06). Miami swept the butterfly events, with junior Kathryn Stephens and senior Diana Zeleznikar taking the 100 (57.44) and 200 butterfly (2:05.77), respectively, while senior Ashley Seymour notched Miami's final individual swimming victory in the 200 individual medley (2:08.80).

Sophomore Melissa Roemmele was the final RedHawk with an individual win as she placed first in the 1-meter dive, and Miami also took home a top finish in the 400 medley relay (3:53.88).

The RedHawks resume dual meet action next weekend when they face Wright State (Nov. 10) and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 11).
