WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.--Finishing with the fifth-fastest preliminary time, Miami University junior Kelsey Vehr advances to the finals in the 100-yard breaststroke tonight at the NCAA Championships hosted by Purdue University.

Vehr touched in a personal-best time of 1:00.07 in the preliminary round. The top preliminary time in the event was from Arizona's Ann Chandler (0:58.97).

By reaching the finals, Vehr has earned All-America honors (top eight finishers earn All-America status). She is the first Miami women's swimmer to become an All-American.

Vehr will swim for a national chapionship in tonight's event final.
