Results

West Lafayette, Ind. -- Freshman Sara Gonso (Indianapolis, Ind.) and sophomore Heidi Willemssen (Prior Lake, Minn./Lakeville) came in 20th and 29th, respectively, out of 43 competitors in one-meter diving at the NCAA Region C Zone meet Friday at Purdue's Boilermaker Aquatic Center.

Gonso accumulated a score of 228.45, which tied her for 20th, while Willemssen totaled 209.95 points.

The duo qualified for the Zone meet on the strength of their performances at the MAC meet, where Willemssen finished second with 268.60 points and Gonso fourth with 253.05. Gonso also posted a score of 288.25 in the preliminaries.

The three-meter competition begins tomorrow at 11 a.m.
