BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Miami University women's swimming and diving team fell in a dual meet at Purdue University on Saturday, 195-100.

Senior Kathryn Stephens and junior Malarie Schmidt both won events for the RedHawks. Schmidt won the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:34.14 and was third in three events; the 100-yard backstroke in 59.29, the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.64, and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:07.11. Stephens took the 100-yard butterfly in 57.52. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Stephens, Carly Gibson, Maggie French and Jennifer Nameth won the event with a time of 1:39.29.

Kelsey Vehr, a freshman took second in the 400 medley at 4:39.36, while Kelsey Anagnos was second on the one-meter board with a score of 259.28.

Melissa Roemmele, a junior was third on the three-meter board with a score of 270.30. Freshman Miranda Kaltenborn was third in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:18.42. Karen Frazier finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke, ending in 1:05.41.

Alyson Stevens was third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.13.

The Miami women's swimming and diving squad will travel to Ohio on Saturday, Jan. 26 for a 1 p.m. meet with the rival Bobcats.
