Leila Sloneker

Player Profile

Class:
Junior

Hometown:
Hamilton, Ohio

High School:
Badin

Position:
Sprint Free/Fly

High School: State finalist all four years of high school ... as senior, she was district champion in the 50 and 100 freestyle and posted third-place state finishes in both sprint freestyle events ... named as the Greater Girl's Cincinnati League Swimmer of the Year in each of the last three seasons ... named to the Cincinnati Enquirer All-Star Team ... honored as an all-academic selection ... tabbed as team MVP ... Sloneker's personal-best times in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle would have placed her among the top 16 at the Mid-American Conference Championships last season.

Coach Jennings' Thoughts: "Leila is one of the most talented sprinters to come out of Southwestern Ohio last year. As the valedictorian of her class, Leila will be a tremendous asset to Miami both athletically and academically. She also has the potential to be a major contributor in the sprint events at the MAC level."
