DeKalb, Ill. - The Miami University softball team closes out its regular season schedule on the road this weekend, as the RedHawks will face the Huskies of Northern Illinois (12-27, 6-10 MAC) in a doubleheader on Friday (1 and 3 p.m.) and the Western Michigan Broncos (18-15, 9-7 MAC) on Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.).
The Red and White go into the weekend with some momentum after earning a 9-2 victory over Eastern Michigan on Senior Day last Sunday. With a Mid-American Conference record of 10-8, Miami is currently sitting in third-place in the MAC East standings.
With a run batted in against EMU last weekend, senior Christine Bills ranks second on the team in the category with 22. Bills needs just one more RBI this season to tie Shawnda Moye for the second most RBI in Miami history with 84.
Should the RedHawks finish the regular season with one of the top eight winning percentages among the 12 MAC schools, Miami will travel to Akron, Ohio, May 7-10 for the Mid-American Conference Tournament held at Firestone Field, home of the Akron Racers, members of National Pro Fastpitch.
