Buffalo, N.Y. - The Miami University softball team will venture outside of Oxford for the first time since April 1st, as the RedHawks will face the Buffalo Bulls in a doubleheader on Friday, then travel to Kent State for games on Saturday and Sunday.
The Red and White look to get back on track in Mid-American Conference play, as they dropped their last conference game to Ball State, 3-1, last Sunday. Miami is 3-2 in its last five MAC contests, and owns a 7-3 record in league play.
In the first two games of the road trip, Miami will see Buffalo for the second time this season. In the first match up, MU took down the Bulls, 6-1, while the two teams were competing in the Littlewood Classic, hosted by Arizona State.
The team will then make the trek to Kent State to battle the MAC East-leading Golden Flashes. Boasting a 10-2 record in conference play, Kent State is the reigning MAC regular season champion. Trailing KSU by just three victories, Miami could make up some ground on the Golden Flashes as the team fights for first-place in the MAC East.
Senior Breanna Robinson needs just one RBI over the weekend to break Leslie Macedo's single-season record for the most runs batted in (37). Robinson has been on a tear, driving in four runners in her last three games, including three in Miami's 5-1 win over Wright State last Tuesday.
The RedHawks head back to Oxford next weekend to close out the home portion of their regular-season schedule, as the team will welcome Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan for two games apiece.
