KENT, Ohio (April 14, 2000) - Miami University's softball team fell to 1-4 in the Mid-American Conference Friday afternoon, dropping a 2-1 decision at Kent State University.

Miami scored in the first inning when a Chrissy Martini (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) sacrifice fly scored Nicki Pelfrey (Fremont, Ohio/Fremont Ross), but the RedHawks were unable to cross the plate again. Kent knotted the score at the bottom of the first and tallied the game-winning run in the fifth inning.
