Tricia Hunt joins the Miami softball staff as the RedHawks’ second assistant after finishing her collegiate career at the University of California at Berkeley.

“Tricia brings a wealth of national experience at the college level to our program. Tricia’s knowledge and love of the game is infectious, and I am very happy to have her as a part of our staff,” says head coach Angie Jacobs.

A 2000 graduate of California in American Studies, Hunt concluded her playing career in 1999 with the Golden Bears after transferring from the University of Maryland in the fall of 1997.

While at Cal, Hunt played in 67 games over two years, and helped the Golden Bears to a fourth-place finish in the College World Series during her senior stint. Cal also captured the Region 7 Championship in 1999.

Prior to her arrival at Cal, Hunt helped Maryland to an ACC Championship her sophomore campaign and was a first-team all-ACC third base selection. She led the Terrapins with a .312 batting average. Off the field, Hunt was on the Dean’s Honor Roll both her freshman and sophomore years and was presented the President’s Cup Community Service Award in 1997.

A native of Germantown, Md., Hunt concluded her prep career in 1995 at Seneca Valley High School. She was a three-time captain of the softball team and a four-time first-team all-county selection, earning Player of the Year distinction as a senior. Additionally, she was a four-year letterwinner in basketball and earned one letter in volleyball.

Hunt is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Sports Administration at Miami University.
