AUBURN, Ala. (March 12, 2000) - Miami University's softball team dropped to 6-7 on Sunday, dropping consecutive games to Creighton and Indiana at the Auburn War Eagle Classic.

Miami fell 8-3 to Creighton, surrendering eight unearned runs on five errors. The RedHawks, who never led in the contest, were led by Nicki Pelfrey and Kari Brisnehan at the plate. Pelfrey was 2-of-3 with an RBI and a run while Brisnehan was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Amber Arnold absorbed her first loss of the season in the pitching circle, falling to 3-1 on the year.

It was much of the same story in the nightcap as Miami fell to Indiana, 2-0, off a pair of unearned runs. Arnold once again absorbed the loss in the circle despite strking out seven and giving up only four hits. The RedHawks, who managed only four hits on the day, were led by Brisnehan, who went 2-of-3 on the day. Amy Dudley and Pelfrey were named to the all-tournament team following the game.

Miami continues its lengthy roadstand Monday afternoon when it engages in a doubleheader at Troy State University. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
