Miami softball took their record to 6-0 on the fall when they defeated the University of Dayton and Wright State University to win the Wright State Fall Classic on Sunday.
Freshmen Courtney Salmon and Heather Freudenberger combined to strikeout nine Flyer batters and give up four hits on the way to a 2-1 victory over eight innings. The RedHawks collected five hits to claim ther fifth fall victory.
In the championship game, Miami defeated Wright State 8-0 in only five innings. Freshman Becca Garcia notched a triple and a double while junior Anna Weinstein tallied three RBI's on a double and a single. Salmon pitched five innings while striking out two and giving up three hits en route to winning the fall tournament crown.
