OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University softball team began Saturday's doubleheader against Ohio with a 2-1 win at the Miami Softball Stadium in Oxford, Ohio.

Meredith Linch got the complete-game win for the RedHawks, allowing just one earned run on six hits with five strike outs and four walks.

Offensively, Miami was led by Breanna Robinson who blasted a lead-off homer in the bottom of the fourth to right center and ended with a 2-for-3 game at the plate. Alicia Hogl was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.

Kat Russette scored the first RedHawk run in the bottom of the second on a throwing error.

Ohio's lone run of game one came on a close play at the plate after a sacrifice but with runners on first and second.

Miami heads into game two with an 11-14 mark overall and a 3-0 record in the MAC. Ohio is 12-10 overall and 2-1 in the MAC.
