2000: Played in 33 games, making 27 starts … split time as Miami’s starting catcher, but also logged time in the outfield … recorded 16 hits, including one home run … her solo home run shot was the game winner in a 4-3 triumph over Western Michigan … went 2-for-2 with 1 run in her collegiate debut vs. UNC Wilmington … had a solid performance against in a 10-2 win vs. Tennessee State … tallied two hits, runs and RBI in three at bats … all were career-high sums … was the third of a season-long three-game hitting streak.

Prior to Miami: Led Chatfield High School to three consecutive District 5A titles (1997, 98, 99) the Chargers were undefeated in 1998 Chatfield participated in the state semifinals in 1999 and was in the state tournament in 1998 was an all-state selection and a two-time all-conference pick named MVP of the state finals averaged .420 at the plate as a senior as a catcher, threw out all but one girl as a senior a four-year letterwinner in softball captained the softball team as a senior also earned two letters in track participated on the USSSA Stampede during the summer national qualifiers in 1998 and 99.

Personal: Born April 20, 1981 (turns 20 during season) ... daughter of Greg Kucera and Linda and Bill Dietz ... father, Greg, was a fifth-round draft choice of the Cleveland Browns ... uncle, Bob Cerv, played professional baseball with the New York Yankees ... older brother, Heath, played football at Northern Colorado, where the Bears went on to win the 1996 and 1997 NCAA Division II National Championships ... undecided on a major.
