OXFORD, Ohio-Following a stellar season in which it won a second consecutive Mid-American Conference tournament title, advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and finished the season receiving votes in the final NSCAA Top 25 poll, the individual honors continue to roll in for Miami University's women's soccer team.

As voted on by the state of Ohio's NCAA Divison I women's soccer coaches, Miami placed five individuals on the All-Ohio team, including three first-team selections. Earning first-team status for the Red and White were 2001 MAC Player of the Year Andrea Cunningham (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) and 2001 first-team all-MAC honorees Danielle Berkemeier (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) and Danielle Altiero (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington). Third team plaudits were earned by Katie Karlander (Carmel, Ind./Syracuse) and Shaedyn Cousino (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill).

Cunningham, who set the MAC career scoring record during her junior season, tied for the Miami lead with 15 goals, including a team-best six game-winning goals. She led the MAC in goals for the second straight season while earning first-team all-MAC accolades for the second straight seasonand becoming the first Miami player to be named MAC Player of the Year. She was named all-Ohio for the third time.

A three-time all-MAC honoree, Berkemeier made her biggest contributions during the postseason, netting six goals, including three game-winning goals in Miami's five postseason contest. The junior matched Cunningham with 15 goals and added eight assists to lead the team in overall scoring. Berkemeier also is a three-time all-Ohio selection.

Fresh off the highest-scoring season of any Miami midfielder, Altiero is making her first appearance on the all-Ohio team. The redshirt-sophomore finished the season with five goals and nine assists for 19 total points. Twice during the season, Altiero served up three assists in a game to match the Miami record. She also was named first-team all-MAC for the first time in her career.

Cousino joined Cunningham and Berkemeier in earning all-Ohio plaudits for the third time in three years. The junior, who was recently named an NSCAA Scholar All-American, was one of two Miami players to play in all 23 games and served as a dominant midfield presence. She totaled two goals and three assists on the season while earning all-MAC status for the third time in her career.

The first Miami goalkeeper to earn all-MAC, all-Great Lakes Region and now all-Ohio status, Karlander turned in a memorable season in which she maintained a 0.96 goals against average and set a Miami single-season record with 7.5 shutouts. Among the junior's most memorable outings was a shutout of No. 19 West Virginia in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Cunningham, Berkemeier and Altiero were further honored by Soccer Buzz, which named them to its All-Great Lakes Region team. Cunningham earned first-team status, while Berkemeier was named to the second team and Altiero received third-team plaudits. Soccer Buzz ranked Miami No. 7 in the Great Lakes Region in its final poll.

Miami, coached by Bobby Kramig, returns nine starters and 90 percent of its scoring next season. The RedHawks finished 15-7-1 and 8-3-1 in the MAC during the 2001 campaign.
