OXFORD, Ohio - Sophomore midfielder Kendra Hornschemeier picked the right time to net her first goal of the season Friday afternoon at Miami Soccer Field, heading in the lone goal of Ohio University's 1-0 MAC Semifinal defeat of Ball State University.

Ohio, which controlled much of the game, outshot the Cardinals 17-7 on the day and enjoyed a 6-3 edge in corner kicks. Hornschemeier's goal came at 55:22 when she headed in a well-placed corner kick by sophomore midfielder Gina Siedentopf. Michelle Meglaughlin earned the win in net, stopping all three Ball State shots on goal.

The Bobcats, who are returning to the MAC Championship match for the first time since 1998, take on the winner of the Bowling Green-Miami semifinal match at 1 p.m. Sunday.
