Stats

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-Miami University's Andrea Cunningham (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) notched her 104th career point to match the Mid-American Conference's all-time career scoring leader, but it was too little, too late, as the RedHawks fell to Eastern Michigan University, 3-1, and dropped to third place in the final MAC Standings.

In a game played at Concordia College because of unplayable conditions at Eastern Michigan's Scicluna Field, the RedHawks, who played under protest, struggled against a red-hot opponent that won its eighth consecutive league game and extremely poor field conditions. Eastern Michigan led 1-0 at halftime and expanded that league to 3-0 before Cunningham scored off a Megan Shapiro (Grosse Pointe, Mich./South) assist at 68:43.

Cunningham, who finished the regular season with a league-leading 14 goals and 31 points, now has 44 career goals and 16 career assists to tie former University at Buffalo standout Paula Listrani as the league's all-time scoring leader. Last weekend, she became the first player in the history of Miami soccer to reach the century mark for career points.

With the loss, Miami finished the regular season at 11-6-1 and 8-3-1 in the MAC. The RedHawks open MAC Tournament play at home next Tuesday when they host sixth-seeded Buffalo at 2 p.m. Miami, which is making its third consecutive MAC Tournament appearance, has never lost a MAC postseason contest and stands at 5-0-1 in two season of MAC Tournament play.
