Final Stats

BUFFALO--Sophomore forward Jackie Hardek scored two second-half goals to lift Miami University's women's soccer team to a 2-1 win at the University at Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.

The RedHawks improve to 6-8-3 on the season and 4-5-1 in Mid-American Conference play, while the Bulls drop to 6-10-2 overall and 3-6-1 in MAC action.

After nearly 75 scoreless minutes, Hardek headed in the first goal on a cross pass from freshman forward Sara Lund at 74:54 to give the RedHawks a 1-0 lead.

Just six minutes later, Hardek scored the game-winning goal off a cross by Lund and a header by freshman forward/midfielder Rachel Byron at 80:54.

Buffalo's Martina Pettenuzzo scored off an Andrea Vescio assist at 86:13, but it was not enough as the RedHawks came away with the 2-1 win.

Hardek and Lund teamed up for nine of Miami's 13 shots on the day with Hardek scoring two goals off five shots and Lund compiling four shots. Lund had two assists in the winning effort.

Sophomore goalkeeper Krista Pace recorded four saves in 90 minutes of action.

Miami hosts Ball State at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 to round out the regular-season.
