KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Danielle Hays found the net for the RedHawks in the 71st minute to keep Miami's dreams of postseason play alive with a 1-0 win over Western Michigan on Sunday afternoon.

The RedHawks came into the weekend needing some big performances all around to stay in the hunt for the Mid-American Conference tournament. Krista Pace posted her first shutout of the season and it could not have come at a better time for Miami. Pace stopped all seven shots by the Broncos and kept the RedHawks in a position for Hays to give Miami the win.

"It was one of best goals that I have seen all season," Miami head coach Bobby Kramig said. "Sara Lund made a great pass to Eva (Candia) and made a great dish to Krysti (Clarke) and Danielle (Hays) finished it off."

Miami put a great deal of pressure on Western Michigan the whole game as the RedHawks fired 18 shots in the game and put seven on goal.

"I am really proud of kids and the way that they have been able to respond to everything that has been thrown at them not only this weekend but all season long," Kramig said.

Miami closes out the regular season against Ball State in Munice, Ind., on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m.
