OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University's women's soccer team had its opportunities to score, but the RedHawks could not find the back of the net as the Toledo Rockets registered a 1-0 win over the RedHawks in Mid-American conference action on Friday afternoon. Toledo improved to 11-3-1 (6-1-0 MAC), while the RedHawks dropped to 5-6-3 (3-3-1 MAC).

The loss marked the first time in three games that Miami lost and it was Miami's third one-goal loss of the season.

Toledo took control of the game early as the Rockets were on the offensive up to the midway point of the first half. In the 33rd minute of the first half, Toledo's Heather Wesley received a pass from Sarah Schulte, beat her defender and drove the ball into the top left corner of the goal, giving the Rockets a 1-0 lead. For the half, Toledo out-shot Miami 14-5.

The second half was a completely different story as the RedHawks out-shot the Rockets 19-10. Miami had a handful of opportunities to score inside the box, but the RedHawks could not put the ball away and the Rockets walked away with a 1-0 win.

Miami sophomore goalkeeper Krista Pace played all 90 minutes and collected 13 saves, including seven in the first half.

For Miami, freshmen Rachel Byron and Sarah Lund took six shots and five shots, respectively.

Miami finishes off its four-game homestand at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, when the RedHawks host the Falcons of Bowling Green.
