Miami and San Jose State came out even 0-0 after 110 minutes Sunday in San Jose, Calif.

In only the third start of her career Rachelle Boff (So., Naples, Fla.) posted his first career shutout recording four saves. Jackie Hardek (Sr., Wheaton, Ill.) along with Danielle Hays (Sr., Apex, N.C.)led the team in shots with three. Hardek was the lone leader in shots on target with two. Hardek also received a yellow card in the 34th minute. It is the third consecutive game a RedHawk has received a caution.

The RedHawks had many opportunities against the Spartans out shooting San Jose 13-9 and getting more shots on target (6-4).

Miami made several runs but many were stopped by offside penalties as the RedHawks were called for nine offside penalties. It was a scrappy game with 26 fouls in the match with 19 handed out to San Jose State.

Next up for the RedHawks is the start of Mid-American Conference play as they travel to Michigan to take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Friday, Sept. 26 in Ypsilanti. The RedHawks then head to Mount Pleasant, Mich., to take on Central Michigan
