Final Stats

OXFORD, Ohio - Miami was edged by Sacramento State 2-1 Friday in Sacramento to open its two game road trip in California.

Kayelyn Satkowski found the back of the net off a pass from Jordan Carlberg to give Sacramento State the win over the RedHawks.

Jodi Zwingelberg (Jr. Ellgin, Ill) tied the game 1-1 for Miami in the 37th minute off an assist from Julie Thompson (So., Glenview, Ill.). The goal for Zwingleberg was her only shot on the day and one of seven shots on goal for Miami in the match. Sarah Howard opened scoring with an unassisted goal in the 16th minute that beat Rachelle Boff (So., Naples Fla.) left side.

After a save in the first minute starting Sacramento State keeper Jenny Lawrence was forced to leave the game after suffering an injury. Back-up keeper Savannah Abercrombie played the remaining 89 minutes of the match.

Boff made her third career start in place of the injured Krista Pace (Jr. Toronto, Ontario). Boff made over five saves for the second consecutive game, posting three in each half. Courtney Clarke (Fr., London Ontario) posted four shots to lead the team.

The RedHawks next game will be Sunday at 1 p.m. (PST) when Miami travels down the coast to take San Jose State.
