OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami soccer team came up with a hard-luck loss 3-2 to the Cincinnati Bearcats on Friday at Miami Soccer Field

Kendall Loggins found the back of the net on a sliding shot in the 105th minute to the Bearcats the win in a hotly-contested match. The goal came right after a great diving save by Krista Pace (Jr. Toronto, Ontario) at 103:48 of the overtime. Cincinnati controlled possession for most of the of the overtime period, but Miami was spurred to a couple runs with the help of a vocal crowd that toughed out the rain.

After a goal by Julie Morrissey on a pass from Kendall Loggins in the 77th minute, it looked like Miami might not even see overtime. Stephanie Laser (Jr. Hinsdale Ill.) came to the rescue in the 87th minute with a line-drive shot off a pass from Jodi Zwingelberg (Jr. Elgin, Ill). The assist was the second on the day for Zwingelberg.

Miami opened scoring in the first half when Sara Lund (Jr. Malo, Sweden) beat Cincinnati keeper Andrea Kaminski on a low line drive in the 7th minute. Cincinnati answered back in the 23rd minute with a hard shot from Erin MacDonald that hit Pace and found the back of the net.

Cincinnati controlled the pace of the game following the goal by Lund, but once MacDonald evened the score Miami had several solid chances and earned three comer kicks. Zwingelberg had a strong shot that was pushed over the net by Kaminski late in the first half.
