CHANDLER, Ariz. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced its 2009 Longstreth/NFCHA Division I All-Region teams Thursday. Earning spots on the Second Team All-West Region were Miami senior defensive back Katie Brightwell and redshirt junior forward Mary Hull.

Hull, a veteran offensive leader for Miami, led RedHawks in points with a career-high 13 goals and 30 points. Already this season, she was named First Team All-MAC, as well as the MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 6 of this year after scoring four total goals and two game-winning goals that week.

Brightwell also previously received First Team All-MAC honors, as well as MAC Offensive Player of the Week. She finished fourth on the team with 22 points, and led the team in assists with a career-best total of 12.

The RedHawks finished with a record of 13-10 this season and advanced to the MAC Tournament Championship game. Brightwell has concluded her playing career, but Hull will be returning for a fifth season in 2010, as she has one year of eligibility remaining.
