OXFORD, Ohio - The Ohio University (11-9) Bobcats trailed through most of the game but rallied behind goals from Kristin Auge and Elizabeth Holtzman to defeat the Ball State (9-10) Cardinals 2-1. The No. 4 seeded Bobcats advance to the semifinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament and play No. 1 Louisville tomorrow at noon.

The Cardinals took an early lead when Monika Rhode beat Ohio's goalie with a shot at 29:30 in the first period. Rhode scored her fifth goal of the season on one of Ball State's four penalty corners in the first period.

Despite trailing 1-0 through the first 67:42 of the contest, Ohio finally evened the score at 1-1 when Auge scored her fourth goal of the season with 1:42 remaining in the contest. The goal stood through the rest of regulation and forced the two teams into overtime.

Ohio's goalie, Ashley Pitkin, kept it in the game as she stopped six shots in the first overtime period, and 11 in the game. BSU outshot the Bobcats 9-0 in the first overtime, but the play of Pitkin and the Bobcats defense kept it all square at 1-1.

After playing defense for much of the first overtime, Ohio wasted little time in ending the game as Holtzman connected for the game-winner only 4:55 into the second extra period. Holtzman's game-winning goal was her eighth of the season and her first game-winner.

The Bobcats advance to tomorrow's semifinal contest against No. 1 seed Louisville at noon.
