CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference office named junior back Katie Brightwell its Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday. It is the first offensive award of her career, after being previously named Defensive Player of the Week for the first time on Sept. 24.
Brightwell led team with four goals on the week, tallying eight points. She put in two penalty corners, and led team with 12 shots and seven shots on goal. She also continued her strong play on defense, leading a solid defensive effort that led the RedHawks to wins over Big Ten foe Indiana as well as conference rival Missouri State.
The RedHawks hit the road next weekend for two games when they travel to Kent State on Saturday, Oct. 26 for a 2 p.m. game, and then face Ohio on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
