COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Miami University (1-5) field hockey team suffered its third shutout of the season this afternoon at Ohio State's North Turf Field as the No. 19 Buckeyes won 4-0. The defeat is the Red and White's 12th straight to Ohio State, and its third straight since a 1-0 victory over University of Maryland-Baltimore County on Sept. 8.

The RedHawks never put together any type of offense in the first half as OSU rattled off 16 shots compared to Miami's zero. Registering goals for the Buckeyes were Vanessa Immordino and Cammie Trainer, both coming on deflections off free hits.

After halftime the RedHawks mounted several offensive surges as freshman Lindi Bortnik (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) managed to record Miami's lone shot in the contest. Sophomore Kerri Orr (San Diego, Calif./Serra) played well between the pipes for Miami saving a career-best 12 shots. Tallying the final two goals of the game for Ohio State, despite Orr's best efforts to stop them, were Lucy Clayton and Stacey Todd.

The RedHawks first Mid-American Conference action is next as they head to Kent State on Sept. 27, and to Ohio on Sept. 28.
