LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Miami field hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to Louisville Saturday afternoon. The RedHawks fall to 0-3 on the season, while the Cardinals improve to 2-1.

Haley Turner scored three minutes into the game and followed it with a second goal in the 20th minute to set the pace for the Cardinals. Louisville added two more goals in the second half.

Jackie Nguyen led Miami with two shots, including one on goal. Kelsey Dean made two save for the RedHawks in 47 minutes of action.

"Statistically it was an even match, however we still lost on the scoreboard 4-0," said head coach Jill Reeve. "A lot of that comes down to executing the game plan and working as one unit. Those are things we need to work on in practice."

Miami returns home next week when it hosts Central Michigan and Northwestern for a three team event. On Friday, Sept. 11, the RedHawks face the Chippewas in both teams’ Mid-American Conference opener at 3 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 12, Central Michigan will take on Northwestern at 1 p.m. Finally on Sunday, Sept. 13, Miami faces Northwestern at 1 p.m. All three games will take place at the Miami Field Hockey Complex.
