Chip Rogers Position: Assistant Coach Experience: First Season Alma Mater: Virginia '90

Joining the RedHawk coaching staff this year is Chip Rogers. Rogers comes to Miami with extensive coaching and officiating experience throughout the East Coast.

"Chip's knowledge and personality make him the ideal candidate to complement our staff," said Miami head coach Iñako Puzo. "He will bring a big dose of liveliness and desire to this program. Chip is a person with strong convictions and values who has the capacity to constantly transmit his positive attitude to the people who surround him."

Rogers has spent the past three summers as a Master Coach of the Absolutely the Best Camp, Inc., working with the campers, along with assisting in overall administration of the camp and the day-to-day activities. He has also been the director of the Tidewater Field Hockey Camp since 2007 and an assistant director of the Sauk Valley Field Hockey Camp since 2002. In 2008, Rogers obtained a Level III umpire rating and has worked approximately 40 collegiate games per season the past four years, including working the NCAA Division I Tournament in 2010. His playing experience includes being a member of the Greenwich Field Hockey Club since 2001. He has played and umpired at the National Field Hockey Festival in each of the last 10 years.

"Miami is a nationally-respected institution and it is an honor to be asked to represent not only the institution but also the Athletic Department and the field hockey team," said Rogers. "I am very thankful for the opportunity afforded me by Iñako to work with Lindsay (Markwart) and him, and I look forward to joining the RedHawk family and helping build on the success of the program."

Rogers is one of the foremost authorities on field hockey history in the United States. He maintained all statistics and records for Divisions I, II and III from 1997-2008 until the NCAA took over. He is the administrator of the Fieldhockeycorner.com website, which has been used by coaches, players and fans as a resource for schedules, results, rankings, statistics and polls for all three divisions of NCAA field hockey for the past 10 years.

Rogers currently serves as a contributing editor to the United States Field Hockey Association's magazine FH Life. He was also named the Director of Emerging Programs, a committee formed to encourage and develop new field hockey programs throughout the United States, by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

"I know that Chip Rogers has the skills and the knowledge to help us develop the Miami field hockey program," said Puzo. "We are very happy to welcome him to be part of this team. He is going to be a great coach."
