K.C. Nemec enters her first season with the RedHawks field hockey team. Nemec brings a significant amount of coaching and playing experience to Oxford.
A three-year varsity letterwinner at Kent State Univeristy and December 2000 graduate, Nemec was forced to sit out her final season with the Golden Flashes due to medical hardship. She served as a student assistant coach for the remainder of the year and helped KSU to a MAC championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.
Nemec’s coaching experience is not limited to the college ranks. In 1999, she was an assistant coach at Hudson High School and then as a head coach at Kent Roosevelt in 2000. Prior to her arrival at Kent Roosevelt the field hockey team had finished with a 2-10 record and improved to 8-6 under Nemec’s guidance.
Over the past four years she has been very active working with the Futures Developmental program. Nemec has also devoted her time to working summer camps and clinics at various schools including Duke, Penn State and Wake Forest.
A social studies/education major at Kent State, Nemec served on the MAC Student-Athlete Advisory Council as her field hockey team’s representative.
