Miami University senior shooting guard Amanda Jackson has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week.
Jackson scored 43 points in Miami's 89-90 double overtime loss at UTSA on Dec. 29. Jackson hit 12-of-19 shots from the field, including going 3-of-6 from behind the arc, while also going 16-of-19 from the line.
Jackson's 43 points set a single-game Miami record for points in a game and marked the second most points scored in Division I this season. Jackson is averaging 23.1 points-per-game this season, which ranks in the Top 10 in the country.
Along with her 43 points, Jackson added four rebounds, one assist and three steals. Jackson also drew UTSA's top offensive player and forced her to eight turnovers.
The RedHawks are 7-6 on the season and will host Temple on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. before opening MAC play on Jan. 9 at home against Buffalo at 7 p.m.
