CLEVELAND - After two 20-point games against Radford and IUPUI in the WNIT on Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17, senior guard Amanda Jackson was named Mid-American Conference East Division Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced today.
Jackson led the RedHawks with 29 points in Miami's 74-67 win over Radford. The RedHawks trailed by six at the half, and Jackson scored 22 of her 29 points in the second half, leading Miami to the comeback win. Jackson also grabbed seven rebounds, posted four assists and had four steals, while shooting 11-of-23 from the field. On Saturday, Jackson went behind-the-arc to lead Miami to a 73-59 win over IUPUI. Five of Jackson's seven field goals were three pointers en route to her second consecutive 20-plus point performance. Along with her 21 points, Jackson added three rebounds, three assists and one steal, while shooting 63.6 percent from the field. Jackson averaged 25.0 ppg for the week and shot 52.9 percent from the field, including 53.8 percent from three-point land.
Miami returns to the floor at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, when the RedHawks welcome Wright State to Millett Hall. Following Wednesday night, the RedHawks will travel to IPFW for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, Nov. 24.
