BOSTON, Mass. - Sparked by a career-high 30 points from Kim Lancaster, Miami University's women's basketball team notched its first win of the year by defeating Boston 102-97 in overtime at "The Roof" in Boston, Mass. Lancaster, who also snared seven boards, scored 20 points in the second half to get Miami back into the contest.

Trailing 42-31 at the half, Miami came out of the gates and fought back into the game. Three consecutive three-pointers--two by Heather Cusick and one from Hollie Nelsen--brought the RedHawks to within one point at 52-51. Lancaster then put Miami ahead for the first time in second half on a putback, giving the Red and White a 55-54 advantage with just over 11 minutes remaining in regulation.

Both teams continued to drain basket-after-basket for the next 10 minutes. However, with 10 seconds remaining, Alison Argentieri appeared to ice the game for the Terriers as she drained a three-pointer to give Boston an 86-83 lead.

After a timeout, Cusick kept Miami's hopes alive as she drilled a three-point field goal of her own with one second left to send the game into overtime.

Lancaster added her final six points of the game in overtime, including two clutch free throws. Cusick iced the contest with four free throws in the final 36 seconds to secure the victory for the Red and White.

Cusick finished the game with 23 points, including five-of-nine from behind the arc. Hollie Nelsen chipped in 16 points, while Beth Roederer added 10 points.

Miami (1-1) is back in action on Tuesday as it travels to Kentucky to take on the Wildcats.
