CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference team announced its women’s basketball All-Academic squad on Friday. For the second consecutive year senior Jenna Schone was honored with a spot on the team.
Schone has a 3.56 GPA and will graduate with a degree in health education this May. She was twice this year honored as the MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week.
Schone finished the season averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 assists per game. She was named to the All-MAC second team for the second consecutive season. She finished her career with 1,538 points, which is fifth all-time on the Miami career list. Schone is also the career leader in three-point makes with 237 and second all-time in assists with 563.
The RedHawks finished the season 16-15 and tied for third in the Mid-American Conference East Division. They had a dramatic comeback win against Eastern Michigan in the MAC Tournament first round before falling to eventual champion Ball State in the quarterfinals. Miami will return nine of thirteen letterwinners next season to go along with a strong incoming freshman class.
