Miami University's women's basketball finalized its 2008 recruiting class with the signing of 5-foot-11 guard Maggie Boyer (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) to a national letter of intent, head coach Maria Fantanarosa announced Wednesday morning (April 16).
"Maggie is an impact recruit. She is a dominant scorer who is athletic and will help on both ends of the court," Fantanarosa said. "We look forward to working with her and taking her game to the next level. Maggie completes an already strong recruiting class."
Boyer joins from 6-foot-2 forward Erin Wisner (Solon, Ohio/Solon), 6-foot-1 forward Lillian Pitts (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights), 6-foot-2 forward Rachael Hencke (Grafton, Wisc./Grafton) and 5-foot-8 guard Ariel Thomas (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) as Miami's 2008 recruiting class.
During her senior season at Lebanon High School, Boyer averaged 24.0 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 36.0 percent from 3-point range and 85.0 percent from the charity stripe.
A four-time Lebanon High School Team Most Valuable Player, Boyer also is a four-time first-team all-conference selection. Boyer became Lebanon High School's all-time leading scorer and she was a 2008 Indiana Miss Basketball Candidate, a First-Team Indy All-North selection, an Indy Super Team selection and a First-Team Hoosier Basketball Magazine honoree.
