CLEVELAND - Junior guard Jenna Schone and senior forward Laura Markwood were selected to the Mid-American Conference Academic All-MAC team, the conference office announced today. Schone and Markwood are both making their first appearances on the Academic All-MAC squad making Miami the only team to have two representatives on the Academic All-MAC team.

Schone set Miami's single-season record for three-pointers made this season with 84. The junior guard averaged 13.9 ppg and 5.1 apg as she helped lead the RedHawks to their first NCAA Tournament appearance. Schone was a Second-Team All-MAC selection and a member of the 2008 MAC Tournament team.

Markwood, a Third-Team All-MAC selection, set the Miami and MAC rebounding record this season with 359 rebounds. Markwood ranked seventh nationally in rebounding heading into the NCAA Tournament. The senior forward had nine double-doubles this season to lead Miami.

Joining Markwood and Schone on the Academic All-MAC team are Western Michigan's Tiera DeLaHoussaye, Ball State's Julie DeMuth, Ohio's Lauren Kohn, Bowling Green's Whitney Taylor, Northern Illinois' Shari' Welton and Toledo's Krisi Zeller.
