ATLANTA - Following a fantastic senior campaign where she broke several Miami University's women's basketball records - including Miami's career, single-season and single-game scoring records - senior guard Amanda Jackson was named a finalist for the 2008 State Farm Coaches' All-America Team, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced today.

In her final game as a RedHawk, Jackson scored a game-high 22 points as Miami fell to No. 21 Louisville in the program's first NCAA Tournament game. This season, Jackson averaged 21.6 points per game, making her the first player in program history to average over 20.0 ppg in a season. Jackson is just the second player in Mid-American Conference history to eclipse 1,900 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 300 steals in a career. In the last NCAA rankings, she ranked seventh nationally in points per game.

The 40 finalists, who were chosen from the 52 regional finalists by the State Farm Coaches' All-America Team committee, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team. Bowling Green's Kate Achter joins Jackson as the only two players from the MAC to be selected as finalists.

The State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team for NCAA Division I will be announced at the State Farm Coaches' All-America Team Press Conference at the Tampa Hyatt Regency on April 5, at 9:45 a.m. (ET) in Tampa, Fla.
