OXFORD, Ohio (Jan. 6) -- Miami University's women's basketball team continued its three-point shooting woes as it fell to the University of Toledo 70-64 Saturday afternoon in Millett Hall. The RedHawks, who connected on only three of its 14 three-point attempts in Wednesday's conference opener versus Buffalo, were just 4-of-22 for the game.

Toledo gained its first lead of the game at the 9:16 mark of the first half as Courtney Risinger drained a short jumper. The Rockets kept the lead for the rest of the half, leading 32-29 at the half.

After a back-and-forth second half, Miami captured a 61-60 advantage with just 3:05 remaining. However, Kahli Carter hit a layup to put Toledo up for good. Consecutive missed three pointers, along with clutch free throw shooting by Carter, sealed Miami's second straight Mid-American Conference defeat.

For the game, Miami was held to just 38 percent shooting, while Toledo connected on 42 percent of its shots. In a game that featured eight ties and 16 lead changes, the RedHawks committed 20 turnovers while the Rockets coughed the ball up 24 times.

Carter led all scorers with 23 points, while Courtney Risinger added 12 points. Carter also snagged a game-high 15 rebounds.

Game Notes: With 19:22 left in the first half, Heather Cusick recorded a steal for the 21st consecutive game. She now has tallied at least one steal in 37 of her 40 career games played ... Roederer finished the game with a career-high eight assists, giving her at least one assist in every contest this year ... the loss by Miami marks the 12th straight defeat to Toledo. The last Miami win came in 1994-95.
