CLEVELAND--Miami University's women's basketball team had its season end in the quarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament with a 91-58 loss to No. 1 seed Bowling Green on Wednesday afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena.

No. 8 seed Miami (9-22) took an early 7-5 lead off a freshman guard Courtney Osborn 3-pointer at the 18:15 mark of the first half. Bowling Green (25-6), however, staged an 11-0 run to build a 16-7 lead by the 14:55 mark off a Jen Uhl 3-pointer. Senior guard Courtney Reed nailed a jumper at the 14:43 mark to halt the Falcon run. Freshman forward Kirsten Olowinski chipped in a layup at the 13:03 mark to put the RedHawks within five, 16-11.

The Falcons extended their lead to 30-16, but Miami retaliated with six straight points. Senior guard Ashleigh Brown started the flurry with a jumper at 6:45, junior guard Briana Dunlap continued it with a layup at 5:57 and Olowinski capped the run with a layup at 5:16. Bowling Green came back with five unanswered points, but Miami quickly tallied five points of its own off an Osborn jumper and an Olowinski trey with 3:36 to play. Bowling Green outscored Miami 5-2 down the stretch to take a 40-29 lead into the half.

Bowling Green opened the second half on a 7-0 run. Olowinski put Miami's first points on the board in the second half with a layup at the 16:58 mark. The Falcons continued to increase their lead, rolling to the quarterfinal win with 51 second-half points.

Olowinski finished with 16 points for the RedHawks, while Osborn tallied 10 points. Brown added a game-high 10 rebounds and eight points.
